Better at Home

About Better at Home 

• Supports seniors living independently at home by providing non-medical services. 

• Better at Home is a province-wide program, managed by United Way of the Lower Mainland through funding received from the Government of British Columbia. 

• Services are delivered by staffs and volunteers, who have passed their criminal record check. 

 Service Eligibility 

• Older adults who age 65 or older 

• Seniors who need assistance with simple day-to-day tasks 

• Reside in Vancouver Hastings Sunrise area (East of Nanaimo St., North of E. Broadway, West of Boundary Rd and South of Burrard Inlet) or Surrey Whalley area (Bridgeview, Fraser Height, Tynehead, Surrey Whalley, Fleetwood and more)

• Light Housekeeping* 

• Grocery Delivery 

• Friendly Visiting 

• Transportation to Medical Appointments 

• Navigation and Digital Support 

*Fees are charged on a sliding scale based on annual income.
